How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are $32 for 30 minute sessions or $55 for 60 minute sessions

Can I do a trial lesson?
Of course! One 30 minute trial lesson is $32 and must be prepaid. A trial lesson does not guarantee your lesson day and time going forward.

What forms of payment do you take?
We accept cash, check, or credit card. A 3% fee is automatically added to all credit card transactions.

When is payment due?
All payments are due on the 1st day of the month

Can I pay for all of my lessons at once?
Yes! In fact, you get a 5% discount when you pay for the full term.

Can I pay monthly?
Yes you can.  The monthly payment option requires autopay to be setup with a card on file. Your card is charged on the 1st of each month.

There were only two lessons scheduled this month, why was my monthly charge so high?
For families who pay monthly, we calculate your bill so that the monthly charge is the same each month. Convenient for budgeting, ain’t it?

Your monthly charge is determined as follows:
(Lesson Rate x # of lessons in term) divided by # of months in term.

Example: Billy signs up for a term of fifteen 30 minute bagpipe lessons with Mr. Haggis.

 15 x $32 = $480.  The term is 4 months long.

How much will Billy’s invoice be each month? That’s right!  The answer is $120.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my lessons?
Regular attendance is a critical part of the learning process at Mullins Music. Please make every effort to attend your scheduled lesson time. If you cannot attend a lesson for any reason, please notify Mullins Music as far in advance as possible by calling 727.841.4704. Prior notification does not exempt students from payment. Students are charged for all the lessons for which they register, including those missed through student absence. If a teacher is absent, the lesson will be made up at a mutually convenient time before the end of the semester or term. If the teacher is unable to make up the lesson, the student's account will be credited.

What if I need to withdraw from lessons?
Before the 4th lesson of the semester or term: Students must provide written (or email) notice of withdrawal and refund requests in order to receive a refund for the remaining paid lessons. Verbal notices or requests will not be accepted.

After the 4th lesson of the semester or term: Students must provide written (or email) notice of withdrawal and refund requests, and are responsible for payment of four lessons after the date of the withdrawal notice. The remaining paid lessons will be refunded. Verbal notices or requests will not be accepted.

What about makeup lessons?
A total of 2 makeup lessons are allowed per semester or term. Makeups must be scheduled during the semester or term in which they occur; make-up credit may not be carried into the following semester or term. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please make sure to provide 24 hours notice to receive credit for the lesson. Families are expected to pay for the entire semester or term in which they are enrolled.

Are you open? Are you closed? When is the next recital, etc?
Our calendar with important dates can be viewed here

My child has a hard time committing to things.  Can we just try one month of lessons?
Well yes, BUT! We encourage you and your child to commit to a full term.  It takes several weeks of committed practice to start seeing results and progress on any instrument. Each term ends with a fun recital performance and is a great goal for a young person.

Can I just pay as I go each week?
No.  Payment for all lessons is due in advance or by setting up autopay. If you really want to study music and are having a hard time paying for lessons, please consider applying for a scholarship here

Can I do lessons every other week?
No. It is very difficult to commit to the discipline of studying an instrument by only taking one lesson every two weeks. It also makes scheduling very challenging for our administrative team.

Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we offer a 5% discount for paying in full for the term.

Is Mullins Music handicap accessible?
No. Our building was built in the 1920s and does not have an elevator. There is one flight of stairs up to the studio.

Do you offer scholarships?
Yes! We offer scholarships three times per year. Details can be found here
